To reach Molyvos, one can use a plane, ship or a private boat. Odysseas Elytis Airport serves all international and domestic flights and is located in the capital of Lesvos, Mytilini. Flights from Athens and Thessaloniki are frequent on a daily basis and their duration is from 35 to 45 minutes. In the summer, direct flights from abroad reach the island. The airport is new and provides all the required services. The ferry boats from Piraeus or Thessaloniki are mainly connected with the port of Mytilini with great frequency, while there is the possibility of using the new port in Sigri, which is located west of the island. Whichever way the visitor arrives at the island, the road distance from Molyvos is approximately one hour and can be covered by public long-distance transport, taxis and rental or private vehicles. Finally, a private boat provides direct access to Molyvos with the possibility of of mooring the boat at the picturesque port of Molyvos.

The visitors have several accommodation options to choose from. Five-star hotels, luxury maisonettes, residences inside and outside the village and rooms for rent are available according to everyone's vacation budget. Most accommodations operate during the summer season while there is availability even for winter excursions. Some of the accommodations are located within the village and it should be taken into account that access to them by car is difficult, as it is almost impossible for vehicles to pass through the narrow cobblestoned alleys. In case someone wishes to travel by car, it would be good to choose to stay outside the village. In any case the accommodation experience is unique, as staying outside the village one can enjoy a full view of Molivos itself and staying inside the village one can enjoy the view towards the Aegean sea. At the entrance of the village, there is a tourist office that can provide information about Molivos. There is a Post Office Savings Bank branch in the upper part of the market, while there are ATMs at the entrance of the village, outside the Post Office and at the port. The Citizen Service Center is housed in the old Town Hall, while there is a medical center in the upper part of the market. There are two pharmacies which operate daily, even on weekends. There are several food shops such as bakery, mini markets, grocers, while there are quite a few shops selling seasonal items, clothes, gifts, jewellery and local products (the majority located in the market). Car, motorbike and boat rental businesses can directly serve the needs of visitors for their transportation, while taxi services are provided around the clock. Also long-distance transport is connecting Molivos with Mytilini, Petra, Anaxos and Kalloni, which is the seat of the Municipality of Western Lesvos to which Molyvos administratively belongs.

In Molivos the visitor can find everything. From taverns with various fish and local dishes, to cafes, bars and clubs with a musical interest and an original design which is integrated into the particular morphology and aesthetics of the village. The shops are distributed throughout the village, starting from the castle, continuing in the market and through Kyriakou Square, on the main peripheral road (Posidonos beach street), on the beach and of course ending in the picturesque harbor. It is worth noting that there are also restaurants outside the village, at short distances to Eftalou and Petra, which are nearby destinations for visitors throughout the year. The artistic events organized with musicians and contemporary performers attract visitors from all over the world. For cinephiles, there is the summer cinema that offers magical movie nights for all ages. Even a walk through the cobbled streets under the moonlight can enchant the visitor. In Molivos there is no need to plan. Take a walk and let the place itself take you where it wants!

Staying in Molivos offers a number of advantages to the visitor. In addition to local activities, there is a choice of nearby excursions in areas such as Skamnia, Petra and Anaxos, each of which has something special to offer the visitor. There is always the possibility for religious tourism since the largest and most important monasteries of the island are at most one hour away. A visit to the petrified forest and natural history museum in Sigri as well as a swim at the famous beach of Eressos is only an hour away, as is a trip to Agiaso and Plomari or the famous beach of Vatera. The surrounding areas are suitable for dirt or road cycling and there are also hiking trails. Also there are wellness centers that offer their services mainly in the summer months. Fishing is an alternative option especially for anglers as the diverse morphology of the seabed provides unique diving experiences. Also, the possibility of coastal boats and small boats is provided in the surrounding sea areas or even in more distant areas such as Gavathas. One thing is certain, that whether you are alone or with a group, you will never be bored in Molivos!
